映画「チルドレン・オブ・ザ・コーン」がリメイクという噂があるので調べてみた

BLOODY DISGUSTING.comによると、スティーヴン・キング原作の映画「チルドレン・オブ・ザ・コーン/Children of the Corn」がリメイクされるとか。

プロデュースは1984年のオリジナルと同じ「Donald P. Borchers」。アイオワ州で今年8月の制作に向けて順備中らしい(production this August in Eastern Central Iowa.)。

Synopsis:

それで映画「Children of the Corn」のリメイクについて調べていたら下のような画像が。

この画像はNemesis Paintballという企業(？)が主催するScenario Paintballの広告。
Scenario Paintballとは、ペンキ入りの弾を発射できるエアガンを武器に特定のシナリオがあるコースを攻略していくゲームのことだと思いますが、そのシナリオとして「Children of the Corn」を採用した、というのが上の画像のようです。

で、この「Scenario Paintball;Children of the Corn」ですが今年8月開催です。映画のリメイクの話も8月。偶然の一致でしょうか。BLOODY DISGUSTING.comの記事の筆者はただリメイクの話を聞いたとしか書いてないので、このペイントボールの話が伝えられていくうちに映画のリメイク話になったのかなと思ってしまう。ただペイント・ボールはイギリスのサマーセットで開催、映画のリメイクの記事はIowaとはっきり書いている。

というわけでまだ噂レベルですが、とりあえず映画「チルドレン・オブ・ザ・コーン」のリメイク話でした。


追記 ここまで書いたあとに、BLOODY DISGUSTING.comの記事が更新されました。

The remake is being produced by Anchor Bay Entertainment for a Sci-Fi Channel premiere.

どうやらリメイクの話は本物。Sci-Fi Channel向けということでテレビムービーらしいのもチルドレン・オブ・ザ・コーンのリメイクとしては信憑性が高いですし。
