AP通信の記事によると、映画版「骨の袋」（Bag of Bones）はメイン州が撮影候補地として挙がっており、今年2009年夏ごろの撮影開始を予定しているようです。また、映画版「骨の袋」の監督を務めるミック・ギャリスとプロデューサーがメイン州知事を訪ねて、制作費に対する州からの補助金を拡充製作時にかかる税金の免除を拡大してもらえないか、話し合う予定があるとしています（記事は3月2日付、このエントリーの投稿時点では会合は終了しているはずです）。映画版「骨の袋」の制作費は20万ドルが予定されている、とか。

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — The film version of Stephen King's novel "Bag of Bones" may be shot in the author's home state.

Director Mick Garris and producer Mark Sennet are planning to meet Tuesday with Gov. John Baldacci and other officials about the possibility of expanding financial incentives available from the state.

Maine film industry advocates say "Bag of Bones" will be a $20 million production, and half of the budget would be spent in Maine. Filming could begin as early as this summer.

The novel is set in a lakeside summer home in a remote part of Maine where an author suffering from writer's block dredges up dark secrets following his wife's death.

ほんと余談ですが、以前Apple Store に掲載されていた、学校教育にマックを導入した事例の紹介記事によると、メイン州の前の知事の姓は King でした。どうでもいいですね。

追記:
ミック･ギャリスとプロデューサーのマーク・セネットは、メイン州で撮影するためには州からの財政的な支援の拡大が必要として、賃金税や消費税の免除などを求めており、これらが得られなければ、他州で撮影することも考えられているそうです。また配役は未定の模様。
