｢ザ･スタンド｣グラフィックノベル化の可能性あり

昨日紹介したNPRのスティーヴン･キングのインタビューで、｢ザ･スタンド｣のグラフィックノベル化の話が少しされていた。その部分はおそらくこう。

Stephen King: マーベルのスタッフ(たぶん)が｢ザ･スタンド｣について述べた事があったから、｢ザ･スタンド｣をグラフィックノベル化することに興味があるか尋ねたんだ。マーベルは｢ザ･スタンド｣をグラフィックノベル化しようとしているよ。

また、キングも出席した2007年2月の"New York Comic Con(convention)"の｢ダーク･タワー｣コミック版のパネルディスカッションの記事にも、

When asked if he'd turn another one of his books into a comic series with Marvel, King said he and Quesada were just beginning to talk about doing a version of The Stand as a Comic series.

キングの他の作品もマーベルでコミック化されるのか?という質問に、キングは｢コミック版のザ･スタンドについて話し合いをはじめたところだ。｣と答えた。

さらに、Lilja's Library のLilja氏の2008年2月のキングとのインタビューでも、

Stephen King: Yeah, I really loved it. They are going to do The Stand I think if we can work out arrangements.

Lilja: Yeah, I remember there were talks about The Stand about a year ago, or two.

Stephen King: Doubleday has the rights to most of that so it’s gonna go on for a while before we get that worked out but hopefully it’ll happen.

(最後だけ)ダブルデイ社が｢ザ･スタンド｣の権利の大部分を持っているから、その調整がまだしばらく必要だけど、上手く実現できればと思う。

とあるので、ザ･スタンドのコミック化は実現性のある話と思われます。マーベルにはなんとしても権利取りしてほしいな。
