2008年2月27日(たぶん)、AP通信が、スティーヴン･キングが製作に関わっているミュージカル"Ghost Brothers of Darkland Country"について伝えた。

これによると、2009年4月に"Alliance Theatre"で初演が行われるようである。
"Alliance Theatre"は、ジョージア州の州都アトランタにある。2007年にトニー賞の"regional theatre"を受賞した劇場であり、評価の定まっていない作品も、自分たちが面白いと思う作品なら積極的に上演していく方針を持っているようだ。ディズニーが制作したミュージカル｢アイーダ｣の初演が行われた劇場でもある。
追記
Alliance Theatre が来年の上演作品を発表した。"Ghost Brothers"の初日は2009年4月15日。5月10日まで上演される。
Synopsis
In 1957, in the tiny town of Lake Belle Reve, Mississippi, a terrible tragedy took the lives of two brothers and a beautiful young girl. During the next forty years, the events of that night became a local legend. But legend is often just another word for lie. Joe McCandless knows what really happened; he saw it all. The question is whether or not he can bring himself to tell the truth in order to save his own troubled sons, and whether the ghosts left behind by an act of violence will help him...or tear the McCandless family apart forever.
ほかの作品などから、チケット代は、安くて30ドル、高くて50～60ドルぐらいかと思われる。ゴールデンウィークとも重なるから、海外旅行をする人は検討してもいいかもしれない。
余談だが、アメリカのケンタッキー・ダービー(競馬)は、毎年5月の第1土曜にあるので、スティーヴン･キング→ケンタッキー・ダービーという、わたしにとっては真剣に検討する価値のあるスケジュールが組める。ミュージカルは全く理解できないだろうけど、ケンタッキー・ダービーは1回ぐらいは生で見たいし、こんなに良い機会はめったにないよ。
