Final Season of The Dead Zone Now On DVD!

このエントリーのタイトルですが、米USA networkのメールマガジンの件名のコピーです。デッド・ゾーン打ち切ったくせに「！」つけてます。


というわけでDead Zone最終シーズン(シーズン6)のDVD北米版が発売されました。

下に「Dead Zone」DVDのシーズン1から6までのカバーを並べました。シーズン6のカバーだけぜんぜん違う雰囲気。ジョニーの表情はシリーズ打ち切りに対する無言のメッセージなのか。それとも、シーズン6の内容を表しているのか。

｢デッド・ゾーン｣は最高の小説 by ジョー・ヒル

ジョー･ヒルが自分のオフィシャルサイトで、スティーヴン･キングの"The Dead Zone"を"All Time Favorites" の5冊のうちの1冊に挙げています。Recommended : Joe Hill Fictionの上から4分の3ぐらいのところ。

ジョー・ヒルは

デッド・ゾーン シーズン6で終了！

SciFi.com によると、2007年9月にシーズン6の放送をアメリカ本国で終えた「デッド・ゾーン」は、シーズン6までで終了するとのこと。

USA Cancels Dead Zone

USA Network has officially canceled The Dead Zone, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Dead Zone ran for six seasons. It was based on characters from Stephen King's book and was created by the late Michael Piller and his son, Shawn. Its premiere set a record for a series debut on basic cable, with 6.4 million viewers.

The Dead Zone starred Anthony Michael Hall and Nicole de Boer. (USA Network is owned by NBC Universal, which also owns SCIFI.COM.)

わたしはもちろんシーズン6は見てないですが、WikipediaのList of The Dead Zone episodes をみると、シーズン6の最終話はシリーズ全体を締めくくるような話にはなってません（2007年9月16日放送なんで当たり前ですが）。シリーズをまとめ るような特別編やミニシリーズがあるのか気になるところですが、Kristin Dos Santos というテレビに詳しい(らしい)コラムニストによると、

With a minimum of waffling and double-talk—which is rare in Hollywood, let me tell you—I just found out that dead actually means dead for these two shows. An inside source at the network tells me, "What has already aired is all you'll see of The Dead Zone or The 4400 on USA Network." (Oh, the noive!)

「『これまで放送された分で全部だ』と関係者が話した。」って事ですから、特別編も特に無く、突然終わるようです。「デッド・ゾーン」が他のネットワーク局に移る（買収される）可能性もあるかも、とも書かれてますから、それに期待するしかなさそうです。
