Captain Trips and American Nightmares ハードカバー版

1月5日、マーベル･コミックス版『ザ･スタンド』のハードカバー版が、書店や Amazon.com などのネット書店でも購入できるようになりました。


1冊は、マーベル版『ザ･スタンド』の第1シリーズ The Stand: Captain Trips 全5巻コレクション集の新表紙版。

2008年9月に発売されましたが、ダブルデイ社とマーベルとの契約によりコミックショップでだけ販売され、通常書店や Amazon などでは取り扱われませんでした。今年1月から Amazon などでも販売できるようになり、この機会に新表紙が登場したというわけです（旧表紙版は依然、Amazon などでは購入できないようだから、新装版に限って販売が許可されたのかもしれません）。The Stand: Captain Trips 第1巻のプレビューはこちら。



もう1冊は 第2シリーズ The Stand: American Nightmares のコレクション集。こちらもコミックショップでは09年11月からすでに販売されているものですが、1月5日に Amazon などでも取り扱いが解禁されました。コミックショップ限定での先行販売の事情は、Captain Trips と同じく、ダブルデイ社とマーベルとの契約上の問題だと思います。American Nightmares 第1巻のプレビューはこちら（PDF）。

上の画像は DM Only 版の表紙。IGN などによると、DM Only 版は11月の発売後2ヶ月間、コミック専門ショップとそのオンライン店での販売に限定されるかもしれません（"This product will only be DM ONLY for 2 Months."）。DM Only 版の一般店での販売が解禁された後に、通常版も発売されると思われます。

今年9月発売の Captain Trips のペーパーバック版はアマゾンでも購入できるようになっていますから、ダブルデイが販売チャネルの制約を解いてくれたということでしょうか。

Captain Trips の場合、ハードカバー版には2種類の表紙が用意されたので、American Nightmares でも期待します。

と書きましたが、Amazon.com にいくつかの出品者が出品しています（販売者は Amazon.com ではないから OK ということなんでしょうか）。アマゾンの出品者から購入するときはクレジットカード情報は出品者には渡されないので（たしか）、よく知らないコミックショップでクレジットカードを使うことにためらいがある人は、こちらを利用してはいかがでしょうか。

Captain Trips では、コミック本体を Mike Perkins 、通常版（一番安いバージョン）の表紙は LEE BERMEJO が書いていたんですが、絵の雰囲気が違いすぎて少し違和感がありました。 AMERICAN NIGHTMARES では Mike Perkins が中身の絵はもちろん、通常版の表紙も手がけるようで不一致は解消されました。といっても LEE BERMEJO の表紙版のほうがかっこよかったので、少し複雑な気持ちです。
