3月27日にフロリダ州・フォートマイヤーズにて行われたボストン・レッドソックス対セントルイス・カージナルスのオープン戦で、スティーヴン・キングが始球式を行いました。

レッドソックスで松坂がつけている背番号18のTシャツを着ていたようです（画像は AP通信から）。

リメイク版 "Children of the Corn" はアメリカで今年7月以降の公開か?

英語版ですが、1984年製作のスティーヴン・キング原作映画 "Children of the Corn" の公開25周年記念 Blu-ray 版が 7月28日発売されます。

現在リメイク版 "Children of the Corn" がテレビ映画向けに製作中で、アメリカでは SciFi Channel で今年後半に放送とアナウンスされていましたが、この25周年 BD 版発売を伝える記事によると、リメイク版は Blu-ray 版の発売と同時期に放送されるようです。

DARK TOWER: THE FALL OF GILEAD #2 のカバー

DARK TOWER: THE FALL OF GILEAD #2 のカバーが公開されました。たぶん通常版です。

これまでの通常版の表紙と印象が違います。写実的になったというか。下は THE FALL OF GILEAD #1 の通常版表紙。

マーベル・コミック版「ダーク・タワー」はこれまで JAE LEE と RICHARD ISANOVE が製作を分業。おもに Lee が線入れ（ペンシラー）、Isanove が色入れ（カラリスト）でしたが、The Fall of Gilead 以降は Lee が抜けて Isanove ひとりで続けているそうです。この#2 の表紙はおそらくはじめて、Isanove 単独で書いた表紙なのでタッチが違うのでしょう。これだと THE FALL OF GILEAD からは中のコミックも変化が見られそうです。（正確には Jae Lee は THE FALL OF GILEAD #1 で表紙だけは担当しています。Lee が止めた理由は不明。）

Playboy 1983年6月号: キングのインタビュー

米 Playboy 誌が公式デジタルアーカイブ "Playboy Archive" を公開しました。創刊から2006年までの53年分を各年1号ずつですが、表紙、記事、広告まで一冊丸ごとデジタル化されています。

Playboy 初出の短編 "Willa" や "Mute" 掲載号はアーカイヴ化されていませんでしたが、1983年6月号の65ページから83ページまでスティーヴン・キングのインタビュー記事が掲載されています。

"Playboy Archive" の閲覧にはマイクロソフト社の Silverlight が必要。

"Under the Dome" の Synopsis

StephenKing.com に今年11月10日発売予定の長編 "Under the Dome" の摘要が公開されています。

On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester’s Mills, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener’s hand is severed as “the dome” comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when—or if—it will go away.

Dale Barbara, Iraq vet and now a short-order cook, finds himself teamed with a few intrepid citizens—town newspaper owner Julia Shumway, a physician’s assistant at the hospital, a select-woman, and three brave kids. Against them stands Big Jim Rennie, a politician who will stop at nothing—even murder—to hold the reins of power, and his son, who is keeping a horrible secret in a dark pantry. But their main adversary is the Dome itself. Because time isn’t just short. It’s running out.

"Under the Dome" の主人公がイラク退役軍人というのが面白い。というのは、キングはこの "Three Kings" で

読めないと将来は軍に入ってイラクに行くことになったり、まあなんだかそんなことになるぞ/"The fact is if you can read, you can walk into a job later on. If you don't, then you've got the Army, Iraq, I don't know, something like that,"

と話して一部から批判を受けていたからです。"Three Kings" 当時はまだ執筆中だったはずなので、元からこの設定だったのか、それともイベント後に変えたのかどうか気になります。
